Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 Tablespoons milk
- 1 cup (8 ounces) candied cherries
- 3/4 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/2 cup chopped Brazil nuts or filberts
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Sift flour with salt, cinnamon, and baking soda.
- Cream butter. Add brown sugar, vanilla and milk; cream well.
- Add dry ingredients gradually; mix thoroughly.
- Stir in cherries and nuts.
- Divide dough in half.
- Shape into roll, 12 inches long; wrap in wax paper; chill 4-6 hours or overnight.
- Cut into 1/4 inch slices. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350 degrees F 10-12 minutes until golden.
Makes approximately 6 1/2 dozen cookies.
