Dough Ingredients:
- 1 cup margarine or butter
2 eggs
1/4 cup sugar - 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 small cake or 1 tablespoon dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 4 cups sifted flour
- 1/2 cup sour cream
Filling Ingredients:
- 2 pounds walnuts, ground fine
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
- 1 cup sugar
Directions:
- Melt butter or margarine. Combine melted butter with sugar and eggs into large mixing bowl. Crumble yeast into mixture.
- Add sour cream, vanilla, flour, and salt.
- Place in refridgerator for two hours
- In seperate bowl, combine filling ingredients (ground nuts, melted butter, and sugar)
- Roll refridgerated dough into small balls.
- Roll balls in granulated sugar.
- Spread thin layer of nut filling on dough
- Roll up, jelly roll fashion, and pinch ends together.
- Place on cookie sheets, shaping into crescents.
- Bake at 350 for 10 minutes
