Cinnamon Supper Cake

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg unbeaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 Tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 3 Tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 375° F
  2. Gradually add sugar to shortening - cream until fluffy
  3. Add egg; beat well
  4. Add vanilla, milk, flour, baking powder and salt; beat smooth
  5. Bake in 9-inch round pan or 8-inch square pan at 375° F for 20-25 minutes.
  6. Spread butter on cake
  7. Sift sugar and cinnamon over cake
  8. Serve warm
