Butterballs

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup butter 1 TO 2 cups almonds or pecans, ground
  • 1 cup sifted confectioners' sugar 1 TAB. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cups flour
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees
  2. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar and salt, creaming well.
  3. Stir in almonds and vanilla.
  4. Add flour gradually; mix thoroughly.
  5. Shape by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls or crescents. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 to 18 minutes. Do not brown.
  7. Roll warm in confectioners' sugar.
  8. Makes about 4 1/2 dozen cookies.
